Now, let me tell you how to get your girl!

1) Don't swear in front of them. This upsets their sensibilities. Advertising on mocca

Recently, there has been this competition on mocca.com asking people to post their most romantic valentine's day message so that they can win prizes. I know from TV that there are people who try to advertise their cars and their houses, but I am quite sure that dedicating your class would win the top prize.

You see, unlike selling cars or houses, selling a class requires immense skill. Let us compare what is required to sell each of the above.

To sell your car, you need a car, firstly. However, to keep people interested, you need a nice car, something that not many people would have. Secondly, you must be desperate. Desperate as in the willing-to-date-peng-for-10-dollars kind of desperate. You don't know what you are plunging into when you go and sell your car.

To sell your house, you need a nice accent. Buying a house requires careful consideration, so you need to attract people before you let them see your house. Second, you need to have a nice spacious house. This is so that you can say that your kitchen is over... there! Of course, the matching pipes does help too. You also need a catchy number so that people will remember it and come and call you.

Selling your class is much harder to do than the two activities just mentioned. Let us see what you need. First you need the class. Like the car, it has to be big and spacious. And very pretty. This is a guarantee if you know what kind of classes to choose. The classes built by the wonderful Bob The Builder come fit with tall windows, project rooms that lock on the outside, and of course, twenty five tables. Bob The Builder's classes have satisfied many quality checks, including batteries of guns, oh wait, i mean battery guns, con. H2SO4, metal pipes and of course, intheclass bonding activities.

Secondly, you need a nice accent. This is a given too, considering how russell peters can scarcely compare to us. I bet our class could get russell peters to pick the cotton while we get the T-shirts made.

Thirdly, you need something matching. Matching tables help. Matching air-con units help. Matching project rooms help even more. But matching chairs help the most.

Lastly, and most importantly, you MUST have mastered the skill of turning Rajaratnam on. Doesn't that name just radiate awe and respect? Turning Rajaratnam on is a skill that many have tried to learn, but failed because they never knew what switch to find.

So all in all, aren't you convinced that it takes much talent and expertise to sell a class? I mean, there are only a handful of people that have managed to do it!

Right. First up, we must understand the very equation our theory is founded upon, E=PH. it's rather simple to understand, actually. Everything (that ncludes YOU) is part of Peng Hui. mmhmm.

Having understood that, we shall now move on to the more complicated bits. There are many queations and doubts raised over this theory, as peng till exists in this world. How, some ask, can he contain everything if he's part of everything? This is when the fun comes in. Ley's use the exaple of, hmm, an onion. There are many layers of an onion, each still being unmistakably part of an onion. Everything, as we know it, can be seen as a layer of an onion. As a layer of an onion has another, smaller, layer within it, there is another "everything" contained within our universe, and that's located in Peng's head. yep. Similarly, we're all part of a bigger Peng's head, which is in another Peng's head, and so on. Imagine a neverending onion, and you will get the idea of Peng. Hence, Peng contains more than everything! Omg!

WE own. 14 and a half years older than this blog man clapclap.

some of us who were at the scholarship's convention today at RJC have arrived at a consensus to take certain amount of action on monday against an individual, who induced in our brains certain quantities of false information about the convention.

i have to say with my utmost regret that i am inclined to such a consensus as well. i am rather irritable now, because i wasn't able to get any information on SPH scholarships. i hope i am able to restrain myself on monday, and not cause to much harm. As you know, my soccer is so damned professional that when i kick the ball i don't look at where i kick it(to) or where the ball is when i kick it. perhaps on monday i won't even be able to distinguish between a soccer ball and certain other similar objects. yeah.

while our realm of discussion approaches somewhere around the subject of school, i shall put here my personal advert from a few weeks ago to all potential visitors looking for a fun time at bishan:

so there, all's well and exciting for a good school year! which as somone, i can't remember who , defines as just "an action-packed holiday." how true. not joking - something should be done about these things. or rather, i am asking why are there these things in the first place? aren't these supposed to be relatively new/newly upgraded?

Dear Batchmates of 2007 and fellow Rafflesians,

We are very shaken and very sad at Zhi Hao's sudden departure. Most of you would probably be feeling the same way too.

While we are all grieving at the loss of a wonderful friend and batchmate and being overwhelmed by feelings such as the brevity of life, unfairness, futility, sorrow, loss and pain, we would like to propose that we recall the wonderful memories of our times with Zhi Hao - in school, in class, in project groups, in CCAs, in org comms , or when we were just hanging around with him in and outside school.

Let us capture all these in a book of tributes in loving memory of Yew Zhi Hao. It will be a book of memories, tributes, photos and more, celebrating the life of Zhi Hao.

If you wish to contribute to this book, please follow the following guidelines:

- Use an A4 size paper (any texture and colour)
- Draw, print, handwrite, cut, paste (let your creative juices flow)
- Use proper language, ensure that it is a fitting tribute and be sensitive to the feelings of Zhi Hao's family
- Please contribute as many photos of Zhi Hao as possible

oh dear... we missed a post yesterday...

anywae... weird post again :

only if you're seriously bored. the first 2 mins are really boring... it;s quite weird cos its only the last 10min of a 20min show - so its not very clear what's going on and what exactly is so amusing

For those who don't know what's going on:

it's actually from a really lame show called "Totally Spies" - 3 girls are undercover spies working for an old man named Jerry. Clover's the blonde, Samantha (Sam)'s the girl with long brown hair, Alex is the girl with short black hair.

In the episode, the spies are investigating people who have suddenly had a switch in personality. They realise that all these people visited a particular shrink (psychologist). So they go down to his house and investigate, and Sam and Alex get captured, so Clover calls for reinforcements (a.k.a. Jerry). That is when the video starts. - jerry's just arrived

On a side note, before the start of the mission, Clover had written in to her favourite singer and got invited to the show (can't remember why). Also...Jerry was going to be knighted by the Queen and was at the feast when he got called by Clover...

yes i know this is supposed to be a funny, random crap blog, but maybe on a day like national day we should change our agenda a little shouldn't we?

what does national day mean to you: a day on which we can avoid going to school? a day where we just specially dress up in red? a day in which hanging up the flag actually comes to some use?

well i dunno but frankly speaking i dun think national day means anything to me. yea, thats the kind of environment we've been growing up in. i bet less than a quarter of the 50 000 plus people who've come here actually know what national day's about. and probably even less care to find out.

and yes, no matter how much we may criticise the US, how much we may say it sucks, we can all be damned cos they really respect and have faith in their country. maybe its cos their country's had to go through countless number of wars to get to where they are today, and although there still may be dozens of protests going on every week, they still have some things we should learn from them.

just take a look at this video. everyday we complain about having to go for national service when we're 18, but these people have chosen the option of serving their country instead. i dunno about you but that's really something that i think we should look up to. thats real patriotism, not hanging up flags and wearing red and whatever shits.

so many its too late this year, but maybe for the next national day we could actually learn what exactly it is we're celebrating, and what exactly it is we're waking up late and going home early for.

It's a familiar scene: ten minutes into an hour lesson, your vision begins to blur. Next, your eyelids feel droopy and heavy; before you know it you fall asleep.

Before you decide to take a snooze, you have to think carefully: is it worth staying awake? if you are really beat, and going to collapse with a heart attack, and the next lesson is an enrichmnt lesson, pls go and slp. we dont want any trouble with the police. but it not, pls try t ostay awake. we dotn want any trouble with the teachers.

anyway, heres the debate on sleeping in class.

Pros:
-You can get the notes from someone smarter than you.
-If you sleep through your first class, you will be more awake in the next two classes.

Cons:
-you miss one lesson

wht about not sleeping in class?

Pro:
- you dont miss any lesson

Cons:
- you are like a dead dog in all three lessons
- you waste your pen ink copying notes when u can just zap daniel chew's notes

conclusion - SLEEP!

now to the juicy bits. if you really want to sleep in class, u have to plan the method! like, duh!

1. THE NOOBZORZ METHOD

Requirements: soft bag, lecture hall with 100 students, back row, DO NOT LEAN BACK. or you snore and you die!

2. THE "PLEASE DO NOT REST YOUR ELBOWS ON THE TABLE" METHOD

Effectiveness: ranging from 30 to 100 pupils in a room

Requirements: Desk, Text book

How to do: You are supposed to be super concentrated on ur studies. Look up every 10 minutes

3. ONE ELBOW ONLY

you need a lot of balance for this. ur supposed to look like ur taking notes.

4. THE ULTIMATE PRONESS

In order to master this skill, it is suggested that one practice it on the MRT, on the bus, and at home. you need to refine your sense of balance.

5. RANDOMNESS

this is especially gd then ur sittin in the frt corner on the class (left or right)

im tool azy to get a picture, but basically it's like this - you lie down on the table like method one, but you prop up ur left/right hand and raise a set of notes or a text book. this will cover the teacher's view of you.

i think you can already tell frm the title that this is carvin;s favourite method. yay.

i know i may not be taking history now, but let me give you a lesson on history, a lesson on:

how the world came about.

see many people have different theories as to how the world came about: scientists say that it came from teh big bang. christians (including myself) believe that God created the world. some people believe that someone hatched out of an egg and made it out of butter. well, to me, i think i can have my own theory can i not?

well, see there was this universal baker, a giant baker that makes things on a planetary scale. so one day he said i wonder what a bubble gum ball would taste like!

and so he rolled up a giant ball of bubble gum, but he thought it looked like shit. so he sprinkled some grass on it to make it crunchy. yes grass is crunchy you know! thats why cows like it. but for us, its not sweet enough thats why we eat it with nasi lemak.

and thats how the world came about!

i just gave up on singapore idol. yes. GAVE UP.

what the hell is joakim gomez doing in the finals? and jasmine thye? wtf? i watched barely half the idols perform and i felt like puking!

joakim's just bloody spoiling the entire idol image. he's just a dancing freak with a good face. and i think dick shouldn't have minced his words: his voice sucks and the audience just doesnt know it cos they just can't bloody stop singing and sit down and get some FACTS in their head!
